Recognized by the most prestigious legal rankings and with more than 25 years of experience, Ileana Martinelli advises national and international companies in defining their strategies for the development, registration, acquisition, exploitation and defense of their commercial and intellectual property rights. At the same time, she advises on complex trademark and domain name filing and registration programs throughout the world.
She participated in the drafting and discussion of Law 35 of May 10th, 1996, on Industrial Property, Executive Decree 132 of 1996 by which Law 35 of 1996 was regulated, and Law 61 of 2012, which amended the Law 35 of 1996.
Ileana Martinelli graduated from the Law and Political Sciences Faculty of the Universidad Santa María la Antigua in 1985. Ileana is a member of the National Bar Association; from the Panamanian Association of Intellectual Property Law (APADEPI), in which she has served as President, Secretary, Treasurer and currently holds the position of Sub-Treasurer of the International Trademark Association (INTA); the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI); of the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) of which she is an Honorary Associate in recognition of her work during the two (2) periods in which she was a member of its Board of Directors; She was a member of the International Chamber of Commerce, Panama Chapter, Ambassador and President of the Intellectual Property Commission (2013-2015 / 2015 – current).
